A modernized rehearsal room

Inaugurated in 1963, Place des Arts is the largest performing arts complex in Canada. As part of the modernization of Rehearsal Hall D, SHOWSDT was commissioned to design and install motorized acoustic curtains and a scenic hoisting system.

Made of two Greek-style sections operated remotely, the curtains allow for adjustable acoustics. Two fixed panels complete the setup for optimal sound absorption. The hoisting system includes 18 chain motors and trusses to safely support stage and lighting equipment.

This modernization offers artists a flexible space, fostering creativity within a technically advanced environment.
