Located in Petite-Vallée, in the heart of Gaspé, the Théâtre de la Vieille Forge is an iconic venue in Quebec's cultural life. Founded in 1983 in a former forge, the theater has become an essential space for creation, dissemination, and artistic encounters over the decades, thanks in particular to the Petite-Vallée Song Festival, which has a reach far beyond the region.
Following a fire in 2017, the community rallied to bring this symbol of identity back to life. The new building offers a modern auditorium while preserving the intimate and unifying spirit that made the venue famous.
As part of this major reconstruction, SHOWSDT was commissioned to design and integrate the stage infrastructure. Our work includes the complete draping of the stage, the installation of 12 500 kg Liftket motors, 6 sets of Unisson lifting bridges, and a custom-made SD-Bed 1200, offering great versatility of use.
This configuration allows for rapid adaptation to the varied needs of productions, whether musicals, theater, multidisciplinary creations, or special events.
Designed for year-round use, the stage system combines performance, safety, and flexibility. This project embodies the meeting of technological innovation and respect for a place steeped in history, helping to make the Théâtre de la Vieille Forge a sustainable creative space, serving culture and its community.
