Opened in March 1986, the Maison des Arts de Laval is a true cultural hub in the heart of the city. It houses the Théâtre des Muses, the Salle Alfred-Pellan dedicated to the visual arts, as well as a studio and modular spaces. Its rich and dynamic program features some 30 multidisciplinary shows (theater, dance, music, storytelling, children's performances) and organizes approximately six exhibitions per year, supported by a wide range of artistic, educational, and family outreach activities.
As part of a project to modernize the Théâtre des Muses, SHOWSDT was commissioned to replace the control system at the Maison des Arts de Laval, which had become obsolete because it was no longer supported by the manufacturer. A complete update was undertaken to ensure the continuity and safety of stage operations.
Completed in less than three weeks, this project was planned to minimize the impact on the venue's activities, which were temporarily closed to the public during the intervention. This rapid execution significantly limited revenue losses.
In collaboration with Go Multimédia, SHOWSDT installed a new motorized lifting system including 25 carriers controlled by our MK4 Drive Box chain motor controllers. Among these, nine lineset elevations reach a speed of 120 ft/min, allowing for dynamic movements during performances, while 16 maneuvering lineset elevations operate at 24 ft/min.
The entire system is controlled by a Raynok MK2 operating console, providing a high-performance, precise, and user-friendly interface for stage technicians.
